Trainee of the Year 2019 Awarded to KBL’s Marie Power

Trainee Solicitor, Marie Power is awarded Trainee of the Year at the 2019 Bolton Law Society Dinner.

Over 100 of Bolton’s distinguished legal profession gathered to attend the Law Society’s Annual Dinner at the Last Drop Village Hotel last month where Marie beat off competition from local rival firms to be awarded Trainee Solicitor of the Year, a prestigious title awarded only to trainees of the highest calibre. The award was sponsored and presented on the evening by Coroner, Alan Walsh.

Marie joined KBL’s Corporate & Commercial team in 2018 having spent a year at the University of Oslo studying English, History & Language, later studying Law at the University of York before completing the Legal Practice Course to graduate with a Masters Degree.

Marie spoke of her success: “I am honoured to have been given the opportunity of a training contract at KBL and to have received recognition through this esteemed award for all my hard work, determination and drive to succeed – especially so early on in my professional career.”

Phil Stephenson, Head of Corporate & Commercial at KBL and Marie’s Training Principal commented “Marie demonstrates an enquiring mind and an ability to grasp aspects of transaction and corporate structures that people who’ve been in business for many years often struggle with. Marie was up against an impressive number of candidates and we’re absolutely delighted that she has been handpicked as the Law Society’s Trainee of the Year, a fantastic achievement and thoroughly deserved”.
