Celebrating 40 Years in Practice
The firm was founded in 1985 following the merger of Kippax Beaumont & Co and Lewis & Co to form Kippax Beaumont Lewis, now more widely known as KBL Solicitors. Originally based in Bolton town centre, the firm has gone on to expand its presence and expertise across the North West, with offices now in both Bolton and Blackburn.
KBL’s growth over the years has included the incorporation of work from a number of respected local firms including Hulton Bailey & Co and Keoghs Solicitors as well as a merger with Blackburn-based Garricks Solicitors in 2016.
Today, the firm is home to a 40+ strong team offering specialist legal advice across a wide range of areas including Property, Litigation, Corporate & Commercial, Insolvency & Restructuring, Family Law, Employment, Wills, Trusts & Probate. Having acted for more than 42,000 clients over the years, the firm continues to support both businesses and individuals across the region with many longstanding clients still on its books since the early days.
Michael Slater, Partner said “We are incredibly proud to be marking 40 years of KBL. A lot has changed since 1985 but the ethos at the heart of the firm remains the same, building longstanding relationships and delivering quality legal advice with care and professionalism. Many of our clients have been with us for years and we are fortunate enough to have a loyal and committed team, some of whom have been part of our journey for a long time. We are extremely grateful to everyone who has supported us and contributed to the firm’s success and long may it continue.”
In addition to client work, KBL has played an active role in supporting the communities it serves. The firm is a founding patron of Bolton Lads and Girls Club and continues to support a number of local charities and initiatives across Bolton and Blackburn.
To mark the milestone, the firm welcomed clients and professional contacts to a drinks reception held at Regent Park Golf Centre, Bolton which was a chance to celebrate with longstanding clients and contacts and to recognise four decades of trusted legal service in the region.
The celebrations also extended to a firmwide Staff Away Day, bringing together colleagues from across both offices to mark the occasion and reflect on KBL’s 40-year journey.
