KBL Solicitors has advised the shareholders of Fitzpatricks (UK) Ltd on the successful sale of its subsidiary, Fitzpatrick Fabrications Ltd, to fellow Nelson business Baldwin Engineering Group Limited.

Fitzpatrick Fabrications is a well-established precision sheet metalwork, welding and fabrication specialist, operating from Malvern Mill on Waterford Street. The business has built a strong reputation for technical excellence and consistent customer service, supporting clients across a broad range of industrial sectors.

The deal marks a significant milestone for shareholders Mark Fitzpatrick and Judith Goodway, with the acquisition ensuring that a strong local business remains in local hands. With both buyer and seller rooted in Nelson, the transaction reflects the strength and continuity of the area’s manufacturing base.

KBL’s Greg Gardner-Boyes and George Brierley provided legal advice to the shareholders. Financial and accounting advice was provided by Kevin Steven and Jimmy Moore of Pierce Business Advisory & Accountancy Group.

Commenting on the deal, Greg said:

“This was a well-established and well-run business with a strong track record and we were pleased to act for Mark and Judith in bringing the transaction to a successful conclusion. We wish the business every success under its new ownership.”

Reflecting on the transaction, Mark Fitzpatrick said:

“It was a pleasure working with Greg and George from KBL as they guided Judith and me through the sale of our engineering business. From our very first meeting, it was clear that they possessed the knowledge, expertise, and experience to handle transactions far more complex than ours. Having been through due diligence processes before, I know how challenging and stressful it can be. However, throughout the entire transaction, our stress levels were kept to an absolute minimum thanks to the professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail shown by Greg, George, and the wider team. Together with Kevin and Jimmy from Pierce Accountants, they provided exceptional support and advice, ensuring the process ran as smoothly as possible. I would have no hesitation in recommending KBL to anyone considering the sale of their business.”

The successful transaction marks the end of one chapter for Fitzpatrick Fabrications and the beginning of an exciting new one, with the business well positioned for continued growth under its new ownership.
