KBL Solicitors are proud to announce specialist lawyers Chris Taylor and Maria Lonergan have been awarded the Older Client in Care Practice (OCCP) Award by the Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE), an independent, national organisation of lawyers.
The SFE is an organisation founded in 1996 to make a difference to older people. According to SFE “What sets the older client practitioner apart is being able to communicate and translate legal expertise into clear explanations of the options for your client and their family and guiding them through the process sensitively.”
Chris and Maria, both Partners at KBL, have gained substantial experience in dealing with a wide range of issues affecting older clients. Their affordable and independent advice will always take an all-inclusive approach whilst respecting the clients’ dignity.
Maria said: “Our sensitive, accommodating approach underpinned by technical ability in all areas relevant to the elderly client (wills, trusts, taxation, asset protection, powers of attorney, elder abuse, provision for care) has brought about an increase in clients requesting our assistance especially in light of the ever changing tax landscape and the particular requirements of each client not just in terms of their own needs but those of their family too.”
Michael Slater, Partner at KBL commented: “This is a great achievement which demonstrates Chris and Maria’s commitment and knowledge in this highly sensitive area of the law. It also underlines the firm’s aim to provide the highest quality advice and service to both individual and commercial clients.”
