Leading Bolton Law Firm KBL Solicitors celebrates its 30th Anniversary.
The major milestone was recently recognised with a drinks reception for clients of the firm at Bolton’s iconic Art Gallery.
Stephen Lewis set up the practice, then called Lewis & Co, from its current premises on Mawdsley Street in 1971. As a result of a merger with Martin Kippax and Mike Beaumont (Kippax Beaumont) in 1985, Kippax Beaumont Lewis was formed.
The firm, now more commonly known as KBL has gone from strength to strength and is now a full service law firm employing almost 40 staff. The Bolton based practice houses dedicated specialist teams offering legal advice to both commercial and private clients in Property, Litigation, Employment, Corporate & Commercial, Family Law, Personal Injury and Wills & Probate.
David Johnson, Partner at KBL says “The legal profession has changed dramatically since KBL first opened its doors yet our traditional ethos remains the same and we’re looking forward to continuing to develop the firm in the future. There is no secret to our success, except that we enjoy what we do and we deliver the highest quality of service to our clients. I’m very proud that most of the work we do is repeat business and recommendations from clients that know us very well. As well as our clients, many of our loyal and dedicated staff members have been with us for several years too.”
Longstanding Accounts Manager, Sheila Nugent joined the practice prior to the merger in 1976 along with Conveyancing Executive, Pauline O’Rourke who joined the firm as Secretary to Mike Beaumont. Pauline worked her way up to fee earner and now operates alongside 3 colleagues to form the firms Residential Property Department. They have each dedicated their working life to the company and this year, will be celebrating 40 years with KBL.
David Johnson, goes on to say “The reliability and continuity of service many of our staff have given over the years has served KBL well. Now we also have many younger members of staff who we hope will be with us for just as long.
