Snowy Slip-ups!

Don’t slip up on snow-related injury claims.

Current weather conditions have caused an increase in the number of slips, trips and falls and a consequent increase in personal injury claims. Yet many people find their claim subjected to delays as a result of going through a claims management company.

The Law Society have issued a reminder to the public to go straight to a solicitor in the event of a potential claim for injury. Claims management companies are NOT solicitors, they have limited, if any, legal expertise and are not qualified to assist – they merely act as a middle man with no benefit to the injured party. In nearly all personal injury cases the claims company would need to refer the matter to a solicitor anyway.

In an effort to highlight the benefits of using a solicitor over claims management companies, the government last year banned claims companies from making uninvited calls at your door, cold calls by telephone, visits to hospitals and stopping people in the street.
