The National Minimum Wage will go up from £5.80 to £5.93 per hour from 1st October 2010.
Importantly, the main rate becomes payable from the age of 21 - an increase from the current age of 22.
Workers between 18-20 years of age will see the rate rise from £4.83 to £4.92.
For workers aged below 18 who have ceased to be of compulsory school age the minimum wage rises from £3.53 to £3.64.
