Law Society backs family refuge

Local solicitors made the donations at the annual dinner of Bolton Law Society, of which Mr Nick Lewis of solicitors KBL is current president. Bolton Women’s Aid will put the funds towards furnishing the new hostel which replaces Fortalice.

Lewis House, named after Mr Lewis’s sister-in-law the late Pat Lewis who was a Women’s Aid stalwart, is already caring for many women and children in safe, modern surroundings.

Said Mr Lewis: “People were extremely generous on the night and we are very glad that the event was able to raise so much for such an important cause.”
