FREE Employment Contract, Policies and Procedures Health Check

KBL are offering a free ‘health check’ of your employment contracts, policies and procedures in order to help our clients to avoid the pitfalls associated with out of date documents.

Simply forward a copy of your current contracts and/or policies by no later than 31 January 2012 and we will return to you with our opinion as to whether the documents can be improved or updated.

Six Reasons to “Health Check” your Policies and Procedures.

  1. Changes to your business and/or case law may have weakened or rendered any current restrictive covenants and confidentiality clauses unenforceable;

  2. Your company may not be following an ACAS Code of Practice compliant disciplinary and/or grievance procedure;

  3. Due to the changes in the law concerning retirement your company may be at risk of age discrimination claims if an out of date procedure is followed;

  4. Your company may not be utilising all of the tools available during a downturn in business, such as short term working or lay off periods;

  5. Recent changes to maternity and paternity legislation mean that it is likely exiting policies are out of date and inaccurate; and

  6. The introduction of the Bribery Act 2010 has imposed certain obligations upon businesses – your current draft contracts may not go far enough to allow you to utilise the ‘adequate provisions’ defence.
