Avoid Costly Slip-ups!

FREE employment law seminar on 'Sickness Management' - Wednesday 29th April 2009

Sickness absence and performance issues pose ongoing challenges to all businesses, with significant cost implications for employers - ACAS statistics show absence from work is now costing employers over £600 per employee per year on average, with absence costs for businesses at a staggering £11.6 billion a year.

To drive down long term costs and minimise the risk of legal claims, the emphasis for employers needs to be on proactive and effective absence management. KBL Solicitors are running a “Sickness Management” seminar to address these issues.

Who should attend and why? This seminar is aimed at HR/Personnel Managers and anyone responsible for implementing HR within their organisation that is looking to avoid legal pitfalls. Delegates will have the opportunity to network over breakfast with other HR Managers/Directors and GM Chamber Members. CIPD Members – attendance at this seminar can count towards your CIPD record.

What will the seminar cover? The seminar will be delivered by John Hassells, Head of Employment and will cover;

  • Managing short-term sickness in the work place
  • How to manage long-term sickness cases
  • Unfair dismissal risk management
  • Disability discrimination legislation
  • Key legislation changes in this area of law

After the presentation attendees will be split into groups to discuss prepared case studies.

The seminar is being held on Wednesday 29th April at Bolton Golf Club, Chorley New Road, Bolton. It starts with breakfast at 8.30am and will finish by 10.30am. The seminar is free of charge, if you would like to attend please email kcarss@kbl.co.uk or for further information please call Kirsty on 01204 558290.
